Meaning

Represents release and liberation from difficulty. Thunder and rain clear the atmosphere — tension dissolves. After a period of obstruction and danger, the way opens. Move quickly to resolve remaining issues, forgive past wrongs, and return to normal life.

Interpretation

Six Yao (Lines) with Classical Quotes

1st Yao (初爻)

无咎。

English: No blame. The deliverance has come cleanly — there is nothing to reproach when the release is smooth and natural.

田获三狐,得黄矢,贞吉。

English: Hunting and catching three foxes, obtaining the yellow bronze arrow — persistence brings good fortune. Exposing and eliminating sources of cunning and deception restores clarity.

负且乘,致寇至,贞吝。

English: Carrying a load while also riding a carriage — attracting robbers. Persistence brings regret. Behaving beneath one's station while occupying a high position invites attack.

解而拇,朋至斯孚。

English: Remove your big toe, and friends come whom you can trust. Releasing petty associates enables true allies to arrive.

君子维有解,吉;有孚于小人。

English: The noble person achieves deliverance — good fortune. Sincerity even toward petty people. The leader's commitment to resolution and fairness reaches everyone.

公用射隼于高墙之上,获之,无不利。

English: The duke shoots a falcon on the top of the high wall and takes it — nothing is unfavorable. Decisive, well-aimed action eliminates the remaining obstacle cleanly.
